ROCKLIN, Calif. - (December 14, 2002) - Sandy Meister-Meredith followed up her undefeated San Diego USATF Cross Country season with her first USATF Masters title in the 10K Cross Country Championship.

The masters championships were held in conjunction with the USA Fall Cross Country Championships. Runners were greeted with 40 mile per hour winds, intermittent heavy rain, and a sloppy course at Sierra College.

Meister-Meredith (40:16) outkicked Sara Freitas (40:20) for the title, while leading her San Diego Track Club Team to a fourth-place finish. Marcella Teran (13th overall, 43:08) and Mariat Fernandez (29th, 46:19) completed scoring for SDTC.
